Frequently asked questions

Update

Please refer to your appropriate age level below for extra details. Below are bullets that apply to every team at every level. PLEASE PLAY AT THE LEVEL YOU JUST COMPLETED THIS PAST WINTER.  

These are in no particular order. 

  1. BYOP (Bring your own pucks)
  2. Your team color on the website could be changed once we get all the jerseys in, this was just to help make distinctions between teams.
  3. If you registered as a team but didn't include a roster, there are no players listed on your team page.
  4. We are using Polar arena for all ice times.
  5. Each team should provide one person to help run the penalty box for all games.  One person can run the clock while the other helps with the penalty box doors.  (no scorebook needed)
  6. Please don't post scores if the game becomes too lopsided.  In those situations, please do what you can to even the games out and keep things respectable. 
  7. Your jerseys are in and will be at Polar Arena for your practice. Just ask a rink attendant to grab them for you if no one from spring league is available, we will notify you when they are in. 
  8. If you need a goalie, please try and identify a fill in through the spring league team or contact me and I can assist. If your team doesn't have a goalie at the first practice, contact me and we will get you a goalie. If your child is a goalie and would like to help other teams without a goalie, please reply to this email. (no extra charge)
  9. Coaches, parents please if your team is in need of a coach step up! no previous experience is really required and maybe a chance for those typical coaches to be spectators if they can handle that. 


Bantam/Peewee/Squirt

  1. All games will have referees, in the instance a ref does not show for whatever reason we would suggest a coach having skates and whistle from each team as we won't reschedule.

Mite 3

  1. Games will have Coach lead referees. 
  2. General rules are we will call offsides, icing and penalties that will result in that kid leaving the ice but no power play, they will simply send a new skater out. Coaches can choose to shorten the ice sheet for games. 1/2, 1/3 etc.

Mite 2

  1. These games will be managed or refed by on ice coaches and that is required. Two games will be on the ice sheet so it will be half ice games. 
  2. Coaches, please agree upon some basic rules prior to the game and skill level of the teams.

Mite 1

  1. Welcome to hockey! 
  2. Due to the small size of the teams, you may want to use the bumpers and make it a 1/2 ice game.
